Dr. Savoy, Dr. Brown, Dr. Hebert, and Dr. Bernard
Pelican Pediatric Dentistry is built on a team of experienced, community-rooted providers who share the same philosophy: every child deserves comfortable, conservative care delivered without pressure or rush. Dr. Savoy, the practice owner, completed his undergraduate degree at Tulane University, earned his dental degree from LSU, and completed his pediatric residency at LSU as well. He also holds an MBA from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. His approach is straightforward: slow down, explain every option clearly, and make sure no child leaves the office dreading their next visit. Dr. Brown has been a trusted name in New Iberia since the mid-1980s and continues to bring decades of experience to the practice. Dr. Hebert and Dr. Bernard round out the clinical team, each bringing years of pediatric-focused experience and the same commitment to calm, conservative, family-centered care. When you come to Pelican, you're in good hands no matter which provider you see.

At our Lafayette location, every chair has a screen overhead and wireless noise-cancelling headphones so kids can watch their favorite movie during cleanings and treatment. When a child is focused on the screen, they're not focused on the chair, and that makes all the difference.

Sometimes the simplest comforts go the furthest. We offer cozy blankets to help kids feel settled and secure during their visit, reducing anxiety and making it easier for them to relax, often without the need for heavier medication.
